       Description of some of the jobs available at The Arc in Hawai'i​

  • Direct Support Professionals:  These individuals provide direct services to residents according to their Individual Plan or Service Plan (IPP or ISP) under the direction of a Home Manager. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current state driver's license & clean driver's abstract, 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Relief Direct Support Professional:  These individuals are used primarily as a replacement for employees who are out due to sick, injury, vacation, LOA, Work Comp, & TDI. This position has no set schedule or days off as schedules may change from week to week depending on the location sent to. May be assigned to work anywhere w/in the company. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current driver's license; clean driver's abstract, Possess a smart phone, 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.  (Travel stipend of $200.00 per month).

  • Lead Direct Support Professionals:  These individuals provide direct services to participants according to the Individual Program or Service Plans and supervises a team of DSWs at the Adult Day Health center; provides direction in the areas of normalization principle, integration, safety and protection, individual rights and responsibilities and other areas deemed appropriate by the interdisciplinary team. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current state driver's license & clean driver's abstract, Possess a smart phone. 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  •  

  • Home Manager:  This experienced individual will have the ability to manage an ICF home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a live-in position. Families are welcome up to a total family size of four (restrictions apply).  Housing with basic utilities and internet/cable is included in package.  REQUIREMENTS include, but are not limited to having the ability to working a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and overnight, basic computer skills and willingness to learn software, having a personal smart cell phone (stipend will be issued for business use), completing HS with a diploma or GED equivalent, driver's license and ability to drive a van, 1 year experience working with those with special needs, experience running a household, 1 year supervisory experience, ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, ability to multi-task and stay organized.

  • Case Worker (ICF):  The Case Worker will be ensuring that home managers are properly managing, training, and supervising their staff in caring for and providing the participants with a safe, protective, and normal environment that allows for growth and development. This full time position has a flexible work shift and must be available to respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour, 7-day per week basis at The Arc's Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) in Honolulu. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to Ensuring confidentiality of all participant's health information and records, Training home managers and staff on how to implement IPP and positive behavioral programs for each participant, Evaluating and developing plans of action for incident reports, Effectively communicates with participants, parents/guardians, family members, interdisciplinary team members/surveyors to resolve issues and/or changes.  REQUIREMENTS include, but are not limited to   Bachelor's degree in special education, social sciences, human services, and/or other related fields from an accredited college or university, Minimum 1 year experience working with adults with special needs and case work experience with application of ICF-MR-C program, Minimum 1 year experience supervisory experience, Access to a reliable vehicle with current registration and safety check; Have current valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract, Proficiency in computer skills related to job duties; Have personal cell phone (stipend included for business use), Must be available to work Monday thru Friday, in addition to a flexible work shift. Must be available to respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour, 7-day per week basis.

  • Accounting Clerk:  This individual will provide accounting & clerical support which include A/R, reconciliation, and general accounting.  Work requirements include, but are not limited to, Receiving and posting cash receipts, deposits cash receipts as needed, Preparing monthly deposits to client and center accounts, Reconciling and maintaining on a monthly basis, assigned accounts, petty cash, bank accounts, and center client accounts, Processing waiver payments and maintains records of outstanding waiver receivables, Assisting other departments, as assigned, and performs other work-related duties.  EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & OTHER REQUIREMENTS include, but are not limited to, College coursework in accounting and 2 years accounting clerical experience, Good verbal, written, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, detail and follow-up skills, Proficiency in MS Office programs including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook, Requires extended sitting and occasional standing, bending, and reaching.  May require lifting up to 20lbs.

  • Maintenance Technician:  This individual will be experience and utilize their skill set in carrying out repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance of our residential homes, apartments, and adult day centers.  EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS include, but are not limited to:  High School diploma or GED, Current driver’s license and a driver’s abstract  with an acceptable level of infractions and have access to an insured vehicle, Five years maintenance experience (ie: drywall, carpentry, and basic plumbing), Effective communication skills, Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, Proficiency in operating standard hand tools, power tools, office machines, Ability to multi-task, carry out directions, and meet deadlines, Keeps in compliance with and abreast of OSHA and HIOSH regulations, Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office.  GENERAL JOB DUTIES include, but not limited to:  Repair and maintain buildings, grounds, fleet vehicles, and equipment, Troubleshoot and repair appliances (ie: washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, disposals), Troubleshoot and repair medical equipment (ie: wheelchairs, wheelchair lifts, walkers, patient lifts, shower chairs), Keeps in compliance with and abreast of OSHA and HIOSH regulations, Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions, Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Facilities, Responds to the President/CEO as assigned

CURRENT WORK CLEARANCES FOR ALL EMPLOYMENT ABOVE INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO PHYSICAL EXAMINATION, INITIAL 2-STEP PPD (TB TEST), ANNUAL PPD, CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFICATION, CRIMINAL HISTORY, APS & CAN REGISTRIES, FBI FINGERPRINTING & CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE, DRIVER'S ABSTRACT W/AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF INFRACTIONS, & VISIONS CERTIFICATION.
