Description of some of the jobs available at The Arc in Hawai'i​

  • Direct Support Professionals (Part Time/Full Time) Hourly rate: $13.52.  A DSP provides direct services to clients according to the Individual Plan or Service Plan (IPP or ISP) under the direction of a Home Manager. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current state driver's license & clean driver's abstract, & Visions certification. 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.  See work clearance requirements below.

  • *REMARKS: WEEKEND SAT & SUN SCHEDULES ARE FLEXIBLE - WORK DAYS CAN BE A SAT -OR- SUN*

  • Relief Direct Support Professional (Full Time) Hourly rate: $14.73~$16.37.  The Relief DSP is used primarily as a replacement for employees who are out due to sick, injury, vacation, LOA, Work Comp, & TDI. This position has no set schedule or days off as schedules may change from week to week depending on the location sent to. May be assigned to work anywhere w/in the company. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current driver's license; clean driver's abstract, Visions certification, 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.  (Travel stipend of $200.00 per month).  See work clearance requirements below.

  • Lead Direct Support Professional (Full Time) Hourly rate: $TBD.  A Lead Direct Support Professional provides direct services to participants according to the Individual Program or Service Plans and supervises a team of DSWs at the Adult Day Health center; provides direction in the areas of normalization principle, integration, safety and protection, individual rights and responsibilities and other areas deemed appropriate by the interdisciplinary team. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current state driver's license & clean driver's abstract, & Visions certification. 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.  See work clearance requirements below.

  • Nurse Case Manager (Full Time)  Salary rate:  $TBD.  The ARC in Hawaii is currently looking for a Full time, qualified Nurse Case Manager to provide Arc clients with necessary services to attain and maintain optimal health status. This RN will be responsible for assuring access and provision of quality medical care to all our participants.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but not limited to:  Provides basic FA/CPR to clients, staff and others, when needed, Assures program and facility compliance on policies and regulations, Maintains accurate and complete documentation in client medical records, Initiates and receives physicians' medication and treatment orders and assures accurate implementation of orders, Participates in Department Quality Assurance Programs, Reports med errors and initiates Incident Reports as needed, Provides health care explanations and guidance to families and guardians, Attends medical appointments with care providers/residents as assigned, REQUIREMENTS include, but not limited to:  Current Hawaii RN license, One year experience working as an RN, Must have ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing), Must have ability to multi-task and stay organized, Must have basic computer skills (ex: checking email, opening & saving documents, willingness to learn software, Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, overnights if needed.  Must have a current valid driver's license, reliable transportation with a clean driver's abstract, pass criminal history check, FBI fingerprinting, APS and CAN registries, PE (Physical examination), current initial 2-step PPD, and Visions certification.  PREFERRED requirements include One year volunteer or work experience assisting persons with intellectual or developmental (ID/DD) disabilities. Must be available to work Monday thru Friday, in addition to a flexible work shift. Must be available to respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour, 7-day per week basis.

  • MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS (Full Time)  Hourly rate:  TBD.   These individuals will be responsible for carrying out repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance in order to meet various regulatory standards and to provide for healthy and safe environments to the organization's homes, apartments and centers.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to: Ability to repair and maintain buildings, grounds, fleet vehicles, and equipment, Ability to perform general plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, etc., Ability to perform various repairs to medical equipment (wheelchairs and lifts), walkers, patient lifts, and shower chairs, Troubleshoot and repair appliances, Ability to prioritize work and make necessary but prudent purchases of materials need to complete tasks, Conforms with safety rules and use of appropriate safety equipment, Keeps in compliance with and abreast of OSHA and HIOSH regulations and abides by all regulations, policies, Responds to the President/CEO & Director of Facilities as assigned.  REQUIREMENTS include but are not limited to: Must have five (5) years maintenance experience, Must have a valid and current driver's license, an acceptable level of infractions and have access to an insured vehicle.

CURRENT WORK CLEARANCES FOR ALL EMPLOYMENT ABOVE INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO PHYSICAL EXAMINATION, INITIAL 2-STEP PPD (TB TEST), ANNUAL PPD, CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFICATION, CRIMINAL HISTORY, APS & CAN REGISTRIES, FBI FINGERPRINTING & CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE, DRIVER'S ABSTRACT W/AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF INFRACTIONS, & VISIONS CERTIFICATION.
