       Description of some of the jobs available at The Arc in Hawai'i​

  • Direct Support Professionals (Part Time/Full Time) Hourly rate: $13.52.  These individuals provide direct services to residents according to their Individual Plan or Service Plan (IPP or ISP) under the direction of a Home Manager. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current state driver's license & clean driver's abstract, 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Relief Direct Support Professional (Full Time) Hourly rate: $14.73~$16.37.  These individuals are used primarily as a replacement for employees who are out due to sick, injury, vacation, LOA, Work Comp, & TDI. This position has no set schedule or days off as schedules may change from week to week depending on the location sent to. May be assigned to work anywhere w/in the company. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current driver's license; clean driver's abstract, Possess a smart phone, 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.  (Travel stipend of $200.00 per month).

  • Lead Direct Support Professionals (Full Time) Hourly rate: $TBD.  These individuals provide direct services to participants according to the Individual Program or Service Plans and supervises a team of DSWs at the Adult Day Health center; provides direction in the areas of normalization principle, integration, safety and protection, individual rights and responsibilities and other areas deemed appropriate by the interdisciplinary team. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current state driver's license & clean driver's abstract, Possess a smart phone. 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  • ICF Case Worker (Full Time):  Salary rate:  TBD.  This individual will be coordinating and and implementing individual programs for the ICF/ID Program rendered to participants in the residential, Adult Day Health (ADH) program and community settings ensuring compliance of programs to all applicable standards and regulations.
    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS include, but not limited to: Bachelor’s degree in the field of special education, social sciences, human services, and/or other related fields from an accredited college or university; Current driver’s license; One-year volunteer or work experience assisting persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities; One-year supervisory experience; Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills; positive, helpful, and patient; ability to budget; good judgment; Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines; Proficiency in computer software programs related to job duties; Ability to proficiently operate standard office machines, standard household appliances and assistive devices including Hoyer lift, wheelchair, walker, and gait belt.

  • Administrative Assistant (Full Time):  Hourly rate:  $TBD.  This individual will provide assistance to the Director of Program and Services. He or she will support various office functions to assist in departmental operational efficiency. Tasks may include running periodic errands and assisting other departments as assigned.  Qualifications include, but are not limited to the following: Professional and have the ability to maintain confidentiality, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook), Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively, Ability to organize and file a variety of reports and internal documents, Ability to compose various types of correspondence, Ability to schedule appointments, meetings and take accurate minutes as needed, Ability to work independently while following directions,  Willingness to run periodic errands and assist other departments if needed, Two years related work experience.

  • MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS (Full Time)  Hourly rate:  TBD.   These individuals will be responsible for carrying out repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance in order to meet various regulatory standards and to provide for healthy and safe environments to the organization's homes, apartments and centers.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to: Ability to repair and maintain buildings, grounds, fleet vehicles, and equipment, Ability to perform general plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, etc., Ability to perform various repairs to medical equipment (wheelchairs and lifts), walkers, patient lifts, and shower chairs, Troubleshoot and repair appliances, Ability to prioritize work and make necessary but prudent purchases of materials need to complete tasks, Conforms with safety rules and use of appropriate safety equipment, Keeps in compliance with and abreast of OSHA and HIOSH regulations and abides by all regulations, policies, Responds to the President/CEO & Director of Facilities as assigned.  REQUIREMENTS include but are not limited to: Must have five (5) years maintenance experience, Must have a valid & current driver's license, clean driver's abstract, and have access to an insured vehicle.

CURRENT WORK CLEARANCES FOR ALL EMPLOYMENT ABOVE INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO PHYSICAL EXAMINATION, INITIAL 2-STEP PPD (TB TEST), ANNUAL PPD, CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFICATION, CRIMINAL HISTORY, APS & CAN REGISTRIES, FBI FINGERPRINTING & CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE, DRIVER'S ABSTRACT W/AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF INFRACTIONS, & VISIONS CERTIFICATION.
