       Description of some of the jobs available at The Arc in Hawai'i​

  • Direct Support Professionals (Part Time/Full Time) Hourly rate: $15.00.  These individuals provide direct services to residents according to their Individual Plan or Service Plan (IPP or ISP) under the direction of a Home Manager. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current state driver's license & clean driver's abstract, 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Relief Direct Support Professional (Full Time) Hourly rate: $17.50.  These individuals are used primarily as a replacement for employees who are out due to sick, injury, vacation, LOA, Work Comp, & TDI. This position has no set schedule or days off as schedules may change from week to week depending on the location sent to. May be assigned to work anywhere w/in the company. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current driver's license; clean driver's abstract, Possess a smart phone, 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.  (Travel stipend of $200.00 per month).

  • Lead Direct Support Professionals (Full Time) Hourly rate: $TBD.  These individuals provide direct services to participants according to the Individual Program or Service Plans and supervises a team of DSWs at the Adult Day Health center; provides direction in the areas of normalization principle, integration, safety and protection, individual rights and responsibilities and other areas deemed appropriate by the interdisciplinary team. Requirements include but are not limited to:  Current state driver's license & clean driver's abstract, Possess a smart phone. 6 months volunteer or work experience w/intellectual &/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Home Manager (Full Time):  Salary rage:  TBD.   This is a Live-in position managing a home for adults with intellectual & physical disabilities.  Families are welcome up to a total family size of 4.  Housing with basic utilities and internet/cable is included in package.  REQUIREMENTS include, but are not limited to:  Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, overnight; Have basic computer skills (ex: checking email, opening & saving documents, willingness to learn software); Have a personal cell phone (stipend will be issued for business use); Graduated with HS diploma or GED equivalent; Have a valid driver's license and ability to drive a van (make & model dependent on the needs of the house); At least 2 years experience working with those with special needs; Experience running a household (ex: food prep, shopping, house cleaning), Must be able to pass criminal history check, FBI fingerprinting, APS and CAN registries; Has at least 2 years supervisory experience, Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally; Ability to multi-task and stay organized.

  • Maintenance Technician (Full Time):  Salary rate:  TBD.  This individual will be experienced and have the desire to give back to their community while utilizing their skill set in carrying out repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance of our residential homes, apartments, and adult day centers.

  • EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS include, but not limited to:  High School diploma or GED, Current driver’s license and a driver’s abstract  with an acceptable level of infractions and have access to an insured vehicle, Five years maintenance experience (ie: drywall, carpentry, and basic plumbing), Required Skills/Knowledge, Effective communication skills, Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, Proficiency in operating standard hand tools, power tools, office machines, Ability to multi-task, carry out directions, and meet deadlines, Keeps in compliance with and abreast of OSHA and HIOSH regulations, Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office.  GENERAL JOB DUTIES include, but not limited to:  Repair and maintain buildings, grounds, fleet vehicles, and equipment, Perform general plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, Troubleshoot and repair appliances (ie: washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, disposals), Troubleshoot and repair medical equipment (ie: wheelchairs, wheelchair lifts, walkers, patient lifts, shower chairs), Keeps in compliance with and abreast of OSHA and HIOSH regulations, Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions, Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Facilities, Responds to the President/CEO as assigned

CURRENT WORK CLEARANCES FOR ALL EMPLOYMENT ABOVE INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO PHYSICAL EXAMINATION, INITIAL 2-STEP PPD (TB TEST), ANNUAL PPD, CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFICATION, CRIMINAL HISTORY, APS & CAN REGISTRIES, FBI FINGERPRINTING & CURRENT VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE, DRIVER'S ABSTRACT W/AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF INFRACTIONS, & VISIONS CERTIFICATION.
